Six years after his father Michael J Bergin established an abatoir at the family farm in 1970, Brendan Bergin was the first of his brothers to open a retail store  on 1st of June 1976. 

 

Situated on JKL Street, Edenderry, Co. Offaly, Brendan took over Lambe's Drapery Store (Also known as Eldorado) which closed its doors on a Friday evening and reopened the following Monday with a butchers shop in its place! The shop went from strength to strength and in 2007 Brendan relocated to the Downshire Shopping Centre.

 

Bergin Family Butcher's is one of the longest family run businesses in Edenderry.  Held in the highest esteem by the people of Edenderry and by the meat industry; Bergin Family Butchers are proud recipients of multiple industry awards.
